Hack for Sweden is a government mission to raise awareness and demonstrate the value of government agencies open data. The focus and goal is to stimulate and broaden the use of open data for the benefit of society. The community consist of over 95 government agencies and companies who cooperate to created Sweden's new platform for citizen-driven innovation by creating sustainable impact with the tool of open data. As part of the process of increasing the digitalization of our public sector, the Swedish Government put focus on open data and citizen-driven innovation through organizing Sweden's largest yearly hackathon.
At the 2019 years Hack for Sweden hackathon public sector, private sector and academia all came together between 4th-6th of April to interact and collaborate. This year, 420 hackers coded through a 48-hour hackathon to contribute to our welfare and together build the society we dream of tomorrow. Parallel with the hackathon a full day conference took place with speakers from both private and public sector on the stage as well as interactive workshops with focus on innovation, sustainability and open data.
Outside Minds main responsibility was the yearly hackathon, side events and operations throughout the whole project. During the yearly hackathon Outside Minds was responsible for all content creation of the event program, planning and exciting the hackathon structure and concept as well as preparation and operation of the conference arrangement. All event production, communication with venue and on-site operations were managed by Outside Minds.
